Official Rules
Effective October 4, 2026.
1. Sponsor
The Catch Leaderboard is run by Johnny's World LLC, doing business as Strawhat Fishin' ("Strawhat"), 1968 S Coast Hwy #4741, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. Questions: strawhatfishin@gmail.com.
2. Who Can Enter
Anyone who has placed an order with Strawhat and enters through their Strawhat customer account. All ages are welcome. Anglers under 18 enter through a parent's or legal guardian's account, and the parent or guardian submits the entry and gives permission to post it.
3. Eligible Catches
- Species: calico bass, spotted bay bass, halibut and sand bass.
- Caught on a Strawhat bait, including Your Pour baits. Catches on other brands' baits aren't approved.
- Caught from shore: docks, jetties, piers or anything attached to land. No boats or kayaks, and the measuring board can't be on a boat deck.
- The fish must be alive and released. No dead fish.
- Follow all fishing laws and regulations where you fish.
4. How to Enter
Submit the online entry form with the angler's real name or Instagram handle (whichever you choose to show publicly; the other is optional), the angler's age group, species, length, date caught, bait used, where you caught it, a photo of the fish on a measuring board, and a short video of the fish swimming away.
5. Measuring and Judging
Length is total length, from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail with the mouth closed, measured on a board to the nearest ¼ inch. Johnny reviews every entry by hand and approves or rejects it. Entries that don't follow these rules, or photos that appear altered, may be rejected. If two fish are the same length, the earlier entry ranks higher.
6. The Leaderboard
There is one all-time leaderboard for each species, ranked by length. It never resets.
7. Monthly Bonus
At 11:59 pm Pacific time on the last day of each month, the anglers ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd on each species leaderboard each receive a single-use code for 15% off Strawhat's stock soft plastics (Bullet Swimbait, ShockTail Fluke Jr., 8" ShockTail Fluke, Trout Taffy, Noodle Worm and The Forge Series), good for 60 days. One code per angler a month, even if the angler places on more than one leaderboard. Codes aren't valid on Your Pour (packs or design fees), Limited Editions, apparel, Mr. Jerk or Catch Clouds, don't combine with other discounts, have no cash value and can't be transferred. Codes are emailed to the account's email address. The same fish can earn the bonus again in later months while it holds a top-3 spot.
8. What's Public and What Stays Private
Public on the leaderboard: the photo, length, species, date caught, bait and the name you chose. Private: your other name (if you gave one), your email and where you caught the fish. For anglers under 13, we show only a first name and last initial, or the parent's Instagram handle. The release video is only for review and is deleted after Johnny approves or rejects the entry.
9. Permission to Post
By entering, you give Strawhat permission to show your photo and entry details on the leaderboard.
10. Removing an Entry
To remove your entry, email strawhatfishin@gmail.com from your account's email address.
11. Changes
Strawhat may update these rules or end the leaderboard at any time. Changes are posted on this page. Codes already sent stay valid until they expire.
